Even more exciting than the re-release of previous Basara games, this is what I've been waiting YEARS for. ;___________; CAPCOM ILUUUUU (oh and happy 10th anniversary Gyakusai ♥) WILL IT BE AN APOLLO JUSTICE SEQUEL? WILL PHOENIX NOT BE A HOBO? WILL MAYA EAT BURGERS ALL THROUGH THIS GAME TOO? WILL I NEED TO SUCCUMB TO A 3DS JUST TO PLAY THIS? I don't know, but either way I'm really excited because AWWWWRIGHT NEW GYAKUSAI.
Ok I like Edgeworth and Gyakuten Kenji too because he is my fav and I can't hate on his Kenji games but idk Saiban games were more exciting for me especially in those OBJECTION! HOLD IT! rallys in court and the characters were better. :x I feel like playing Gyakusai 1-4 again in celebration!!!

One day I will write about all the other stuff I haven't including Gou, attempting to watch jdramas again, eating away my money (the food was worth it), trying to understand Taira no Kiyomori with no English subs, etc. etc.

I should probably go to bed after staying up to watch the tennis, but I also have an episode of Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy I want to watch. ~Decisions.

Since it's technically Monday already, I saw GANTZ and GANTZ Perfect Answer with ggikku on Saturday night as part of the 15th Japanese Film Festival in Sydney. I was really bummed when GANTZ aired in cinemas in Japan the day after I left Japan so I'm really glad they screened GANTZ and then Perfect Answer after it so I didn't have to wait for the second one. I was prepared to read the manga before seeing it, but the chapters were left untouched on my hard drive (they're being used now) so basically I went into the movie with the knowledge of the black ball, guns, suits, Matsuken and Nino. Is this how they pulled fangirls in who probably otherwise wouldn't see GANTZ? By casting Matsuken and Nino? Probably, and it worked on me so w/e /kicked

I always enjoy clean shaven Matsuken, and Nino was always my ~*~*favourite when I was like really into Arashi in high school, so why not. I'm really glad I saw GANTZ though, it was fucking awesome. I was on edge most of the movie, and fuck that 1000 Arm Buddha shit is creepier than all the Weeping Angels put together.
It really creeped me out when they were fighting the Negi Alien though, because my second host family's house looked pretty much exactly the same and had the same garage that was sometimes left open for my brothers & sisters to put their bikes in when they got home late (lol generic house) so glad I don't have to walk past that to get into the house anymore. But that was much more ... gross than I expected and I had to close my eyes and not look at some parts because I couldn't ~handle it ;_;

Matsuken's dry hair tho. His Toru hair in Norwegian Wood set the bar too high imo.

Anyway, Perfect Answer! omfg everytime Yoshitaka Yuriko's character was on screen I was like smh because she was ultra annoying tbqh and all Kurono-kun~~~~ ALL THE FUCKING TIME esp. when Nino was about to fight alien Matsuken and she is all NOOOOO LET ME STAYYYY. gurl bye
All the other females were really fierce though, I really liked the model/talent Eriko Ayukawa. Killing people while werking her outfits + her amazing hair.
But yeah, I think I liked Part 1 better than Part 2, or maybe I was just getting too tired to concentrate as much (not that Part 2 wasn't good) :|

I'm making my way through the manga rn, lucky the chapters aren't too long but there are so many of them! But I have time, so that's alright.

Last night was Anna's farewell/unofficial Aivy's farewell~ Had dinner at Seoulria, then we went to Norita. Taboo was so hilarious!
The other day I went to Sculpture by the Sea with ggikku *_* The weather was sooo perfect!! Glad we went early, because it got really cloudy in the afternoon and was storming.

finally bought my copy yesterday ;o;!!! hardcover and so beautiful. i'm about a quarter of the way through~ the long long wait has been worth it, i'm really liking it so far.

let's talk about how nari is werking his feenie hair. in other gyakusai things, i watched phoenix's moveset for ultimate marvel vs capcom, full of ridiculousness but so great at the same time. i mean, who else will fling legal documents at their opponents.

anyway, i'm done with uni for the year, done with my photomedia major. YAY
i only have electives to take next semester but i have to ~seriously think about what i want to do after this degree. i've got two options so far, so i'll just have to think things out over summer.

I bought Submarine two days ago, because
a) I had some time before meeting up with Sally (more on that later)
b) I wanted to read it before I saw the film

I finished the book today, watched the film today. It's funny, it's pretty relatable (is that even a word?) but I think I was really blown away by how well the actors/actresses played Oliver and Jordana. The movie was somehow more heartbreaking than the book (for me anyway), but it was kind of nice how it hinted that they got back together in the movie.

I bought another copy of Anansi Boys since I lost my old (blue-covered) copy, I forgot how great it was. ;_; Murakami's new book is finally (!!!!!) coming out next month, just in time for end of semester yeahhh! I can bury myself in those 1000 pages with no regrets, lol.

Anyway, on Monday, I went to a screening of "Day of the Daleks" with Sally since she won tickets that she forgot she entered a competition for. The tractor chase is definitely one of the highlights, tbh.

Mid-semester review was today. Pretty much the second last crit ever in Photomedia, at least that part was exciting. It wasn't as bad as I imagined, but I was still really nervous.

Ahh, I just watched the Itsuka PV. Nyan seemed to fling considerably less in this PV, Shinji always looks fabulous in a suit, and can there be just ONE PV with no slow-mo?! (ever since Monokisu, anyway)

- harry potter midnight screening :D :D :D it was actually really great, everyone clapped/cheered for like everything. voldemort's laugh is still the best part of the movie. also i really love narcissa's hair.

finally finished uploading the final photos from wakayama today, and spent ages geotagging all the photos i took in japan. flickr's map isn't very accurate yet (except tokyo) so some photos are oddly geotagged (the daikonshima ones and miyajima - how is miyajima not on there?!) and don't even show up on my map lol.

i wrote a 2010 review post up on my ameblo but obviously failed to do here. :x so i shall write a super belated one and see how many things i left out.

spent the new year falling asleep at michael's and eating fish fingers while watching the dark knight.
went to sydney wildlife park and aquarium with ggikku and watched her put her hand into fish tanks she wasn't supposed to. went to some park and beat kids out to the swings. had dinner at ramen-kan and ggikku got drunk off a bottle of tsunami lmao.

semester finished, spring semester graduation. wore a yukata~
moved into the takarazuka dorm for the summer, so gross. actually that doesn't even begin to describe how shit it really is. missed half of gion matsuri because of this.
saw inception with cassie
went to the tenjin matsuri and then stayed in kyoto with kendra and eduardo then went to heian jingu the day after. still in my yukata.
went to tokyo (again)
hung out with daniel for a day in tokyo before he flew back to america - went to the pokemon center in tokyo, tokyo tower then to roppongi where brendan was playing in some club. haha of all places to meet, considering he lives like 10 minutes away lmao
SID's summer festa 2010 ~saitama arena super live~. my very first SID live, and i was so amazed by the amount of lolitas there boiling in the heat. also got a photo with some bitching ciel and sebastian cosplayers. furi'd. can't remember if i cried but i probably did hahahaha. thank god for tour towels.

august:

finally met josie!!!!!! after like 5 years of being distanced by the internet, lol. her and steph were doing a summer course in tokyo, so we hung out :3
did a lot of wandering in tokyo
back to osaka, saw loads of fireworks
so so lazy. was povo cos i had to buy groceries every two days (i guess that's because all i did was sit in my dorm room with the air conditioning on and eat and surf the net cos it was too hot to go outside) and carry 4L of water/lemon tea up that FUCKING HILL to the dorm. so i had some mad muscles lmao
went to fushimi inari with cassie and her friend who was visiting
got tickets for the mucc live in umeda for november, got a ticket for tokyo dome thanks to shii ;3;

september:

finally moved out of that gross dorm and into my new host family at nigawa. first time living with younger siblings! found out everyone in my family fans something, and in turn my family knew i fanned SID. they even google earth'd my house hahahahahhaaha
was a bit iffy about going to the autumn semester orientation excursion (at nara, since himeji castle is undergoing reconstruction) but went anyway. which i'm now glad i went to.
met shii!! went to the kalafina mini live (which was amazing), saw BECK, took really itai purikura (which became a tradition)
mayo's primary school had a 運動会 which was really interesting. went to karaoke after with jacky and some others :o
hung out in kobe the next day with jacky, ava (not yet lanche) and everyone else, then went to china town

october:

yuuki's birthday!
beer festival in itami and it was pouring :( me and avalanche bailed early to meet the others in nipponbashi then ended up getting to melonbooks before the others and possibly being drunk and lol'ing at all the obscene manga on the guys floor

SID @ tokyo dome!! got to tokyo far too early in the morning, saw some girl with some hardcore sex pot revenge wheely bag WITH CHAINS. went to ikebukuro, then we respectively put our faces on in the corner of a starbucks. the goods lady at dome probably hated me and shii because we were there for like 10 mins HAHAHAHA. had some great soba for lunch, then we still had like 4 hours to kill before we could go in. found some cosplayers with a really hot girl!nyan, wandered, waited 45 minutes to take some itai purikura, more people watching then the sun started setting and got cold, finally went into the dome, ate a lot, then did a lot of fanning. :D also got so, so teary towards the end and i legit cried for like 15 mins non-stop. YAY TOUR TOWELS :D bussed it back to osaka after the live.

BUT IT WAS STILL AMAZING. saw tron, went to aso-san (SOOO COLD ;_; but so much snow. and took like 4 hours to get there from fukuoka), had a puddi party, had puddi part 2 in the morning, went to nagasaki, then to shikoku! 3am nosebleed, rocking up in matsuyama at 7am with no idea where to go, bought bus tickets to kochi, wandered around matsuyama. got to kochi at like 9:30pm, walked into hotels and asked for rooms lmao. had a really delicious dinner thanks to the ladies at reception who recommended us to go to the ichiba! next day was exploring kochi, then to katsurahama where petter took like half the beach home in his bag, then off to tokushima! saw the naruto the next day and it was so cold.
had a farewell dinner with hiro, takako, hiroko, taisuke and ayaka~ dai had work but he came afterwards. they gave me a really cute card! :D and got some really pretty chopsticks from hiroko and a book cover from hiro and a letter.
got my hair done with avalanche and the hairdressers thought we were sisters LOLOL. was playing gyakusai and my hairdressers were like what's that? so i said gyakuten saiban and one of the hairdressers did the objection pose lksfdnglnglfd hahahaha.
had another farewell dinner at torikizoku and omg so much fun. also i got the pamphlet of the takarazuka revue romeo & juliet because the lady who plays romeo is so hot haha. THEN we saw like all of our teachers after at nishikita and abe-sensei tried to steal ava's koala LMFAO but i had a spare so i gave him one. had puddi party afterwards!
next day had puddi part 2, then went to osaka to go to wakayama except ava woke up at the time we were supposed to meet in osaka. so me and jacky hung around in maccas waiting for avalanche. took ages to get to wakayama (very woop) and then went into even more woop areas to see the cat station master ;_; so cute. bought a day pass on the wakayama rail so we went wherever lol. was super cold at wakayama~ went and walked around the castle grounds for a bit, went back to osaka and had the cheese okonomiyaki for the last time ;_;
some volcano in kyuushuu erupted and the ash was in the way which delayed my flight which was great since i was late anyway. got to cairns, boiled but i was prepared and brought a change of summer clothes in my bag!

SO I was in Kyuushuu and Shikoku for the past week. Japan is truly beautiful outside of the big urban cities. So many mountains, fields and seas. There was a LOT of snow at Aso-san so I had a lot of fun playing in the snow even if it was in the minuses.

And I finally succumbed to an onsen, only because I was desperate for a bath after being on a night bus (very comfy, despite me having a half an hour nosebleed at 3am on the bus with only three tissues to last me) from Fukuoka to Matsuyama. Dogo Onsen, one of Japan's three oldest onsen! So many saggy old ladies, omg. I was like the only one who was not like 60+ in there lmfao. Matsuyama Castle is an absolute killer, so it kind of killed the purpose of bathing haha. But it was so pretty! The view was really nice too.

I saw Norwegian Wood today. If you've known me long enough, you'd probably know that Murakami Haruki's is one of my favourite authors. Norwegian Wood was one of the first of his books that I read, and being 16 at the time I didn't think that much of it. Knowing the movie was going to be out, I re-read it last month and wow it's definitely changed in my eyes haha.

Anyway, the movie was about two hours-ish and my butt hurt by the end but it was worth it. I think my favourite part of the movie besides how attractive Matsuyama Kenichi looked (I swear this is the first time I've found him attractive lol) was the cinematography, it was so gorgeous. ;_; The colours of some scenes were so ... nice. The OST was really awesome too :D The movie followed the book really well (well I thought so anyway) - inevitably of course they weren't able to fit all the tiniest details in but they did well in the two hours, and the cast were really excellent. Kikuchi Rinko played Naoko so well.

Overall it was a really beautiful movie.

Had a busy weekend!

Friday:
- Ventured to umeda AKASO for the long-awaited MUCC live. It was so so SO amazing (not even kidding) and they played one of my absolute (old) MUCC songs as well. The crowd was so great, lots of moshing and headbanging/head flinging and some weird furi shit happening. So different going to see SID since so many people are loli'd up whereas MUCC fans were like chilling in their t-shirts in 10 degree weather. (I wasn't that brave and wore three layers but hey)

Saturday:
- Met up with Mayu for lunch at Hep, then met up with Gav and we (me, Michael and Gav) saw HP7. Pretty good! Some things got lost in translation so it was super awkward when it was just us and some other foreigners laughing at jokes. :x

Sunday:
- Went to Mino-o to look at some momiji and eat leaves. No monkeys but we did see a random boar.
- Ate takoyaki for dinner, yay! One of the guys at the shop came to help us flip them lol. Then we ate parfait at Hep in a place with some mad gyaru bitches

Monday:
- Went to Nipponbashi and I scored a little OnoD keychain (one that came with Sylph in the August issue). There was only one OnoD and three HiroCs... and considering my OnoD bias... :D; (HiroC I will go back for you some day)
- Headed to Shinsaibashi and had some coffee since we were both so dead. Walked around for a bit, and I got a petticoat thing. Have yet to test how puffy it is, but meh it was like 1000 yen. |D Met up with Daisy and Lily, and headed back to Umeda for some omurice!

Tuesday:
- Went to Arashiyama and it was really cold :( Saw lots of monkeys though, so yay. Went to Kyoto for a bit afterwards and just walked around and shit.

Last Friday, I went and saw the Dear Girl ~Stories~ THE MOVIE*~*~ at the Umeda Sky Building. Once again, my awesome sense of direction led me around half of Umeda/Nakatsu thus I missed the 12:40 session of the movie, so I bummed around in Sannomiya until the movie at 4:50. Out of the 30 or so people who were in the cinema (much more than I expected), there was one lonely Dear Boy. :'D

This "movie" (more like documentary) is probably the silliest thing I've ever watched, because it was basically HiroC and OnoD being silly (the usual) for 1.5 hours. But it was worth it, lmao. A quick run-down: It was basically filmed footage from OnoD's birthday "surprise outing" from DGS 160 and 161 when HiroC took OnoD to the big Buddha statue in Ushiku in Ibaraki-ken. (牛久る？！いくいく！)

OnoD in that eye mask: It's hot~~ It's getting itchy~~ I feel sick now. LMAO ;_;

But yeah, I bought the ~visual guide book and a B2 movie poster, so I'm defs sticking that up on my wall when I get home hahahaha.

After that, it was Tofu's birthday dinner at Shirokiya in Kotoen! :D

It was pretty fun and I got to meet some new people, being a ~Spring phantom and all. /kicked

On Monday, me, Ava, Caitlin and Ava's Nihongo Partner Moe went to the Instant Ramen Museum in Ikeda since it was holiday for the school festival.

We got to make our own instant noodles!! :D Pretty awesome~ I haven't eaten mine yet though. But anyway, after that we wandered around Ikeda and ended up finding this weird free zoo (Satsukiyama Doubutsuen) with emo animals and neurotic raccoons.

On Wednesday, the final day of the school festival, went to uni at 8am to line up for Yuna Ito tickets!

- Walked around and everyone harassed Isaac and Jacky to buy food from their store
- Went to a haunted house, lmao. An hour wait for 5 minutes of trolling
- "These pearls taste like ass" (x20) - Isaac
- YUNA ITO IS SO ADORABLE. And she sounds so good live! :D
- Went to Gahee's birthday dinner afterwards at a Thai restaurant in Kotoen. A little pricey, but it was still delicious!

Last Saturday, I went to see 大奥 (Ohoku) with Shii. I just made it to the cinema on time for the 11:15 session v(^◇^)v I would be lying if I said I understood most of it, LOL. I managed to keep up (surprisingly, to me) and wow keigo actually came in handy! Shii has studied a bit of old Japanese before and knows the history of the Ohoku better than I do (we never really got to cover it in history last semester) so she understood much more than me. XP The movie was okay! The costumes and music were gorgeous, as were the cast. (haha) There was also some man-love happening here in there among the fierceness of Shibasaki Kou.

The negi heap is well, a negi heap over gyoza. I ordered the gyoza you could see, and Shii ordered the super-Shinji negi heap ones /kicked

Since last time:
- Went to Nara with the new exchange students for the Autumn Semester Orientation. So I guess our Spring group were the last to go to Himeji and the huge bridge, huh.
- Uni started. Level 5 is so different from 4, I'm having a serious time trying to not feel like a dumbass in class everytime we have class.
- Met some of the new exchange students, discovered that Ava was in my 3A/3B class last year and we both didn't know. How great are we. We also seem to always wear stripes at the same time and we don't even co-ordinate, haha.
- cosmetic got released, as did Dear Girl wa Nemuranai. Couldn't end up resisting buying Dear Girl wa Nemuranai because at Animate they gave you a free poster. >_> Now I can hang up OnoD's fugly shoes on my wall when I get home, yay.
- Skyped with ggikku for the first time in her new house! And then Matt and Sally drunk Skyped me (well Matt was much more drunk than Sally was), so that was a lot of fun! :D Except when I had to wake up at some ungodly hour (for a Sunday) and head out to Itami for the beer festival the next day.
- Finally mine and Kendra's timezones weren't horrible to each other so we got to Skype, yay!

My Saturday.

Went to Osaka with Shii to see BECK! lol sry Mizushima Hiro's hair, but his English was good! Also wtf @ them deleting out all of Satoh Takeru's singing. The movie went much longer than I thought so my butt hurt by the time it finished.

After that we went to Kalafina's mini live event to commemorate Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni ha, omg they were so amazing live. They were also super super adorable! ;_; If only their one-man in Tokyo in December wasn't on the same day as SID's Tokyo Dome concert!

We went to Yodobashi Camera because I wanted to pick up a copy of Pokemon White, and we walked around at looked at all the clothes and Nidome hats. |D We also had expensive cake and tea from Sweets Museum, but I'll forgive the price because it was such amazing cake.

Then we went to Namco Land to play Taiko no Tatsujin and took some really fucking itai purikura. >____>

I moved into my new host family two days ago, living in Nigawa rn. It's about a 10 minute walk to Nigawa station, and then like previously, walk from the station to uni, which is about 15 minutes. Still, at least I don't have to catch trains and miss them and whatnot for uni this semester!

I have three younger siblings, which is pretty interesting! I'm used to being the youngest and getting my way, lol. The oldest out of the three is Shuusuke (18), then Yuuki (15, soon to be 16) and Mayo (12). Mayo is hilarious, she was really shy when I first met her but it's okay now, she's the one I've talked to the most so far apart from my host mum. When I asked her her name, she was like "You know mayonnaise? My name is Mayo, without the "nnaise" part." LOL. Everyone in this house actively fans something of some sort (for my host mum and Yuuki, it's Korean stars; for Shuusuke it's AKB48; for Mayo it's Arashi, in particular Sakurai Sho), and my entire host family knows I fan SID LMAO. My host dad came home particularly early on the day I moved in, and when he was helping me set up my internet, he was like "Oh! I thought the guys on your wallpaper (SID) were Korean!" and Mayo was all LOL NO and he said, "Oh I'm sorry it's because my wife and daughter are so obsessed with Korean stars I automatically thought that they were Korean." LMFAO.

My host dad and mum are around the same age as my parents, and my host dad has been to Australia for business a couple of times too. Haha we had like a mini 日本語／英語講座 last night although the details of this I won't disclose hahahahahaha |D Oh, and I became mozzie food, and Shunsuke was like "おぉ！今朝mosquito killした！" JKDNGKGNFDGKDFG LMAO (Oh! I killed a mosquito this morning!)

My host mum said that since my host dad has work until late on weekdays, we're going to go out for dinner on Saturday at Mondo-Yakujin as a "welcome party", aww!! ;___; So nice~~

Speaking of nice things, my host mum does the washing every single day, so she's like "It's okay! I can wash your clothes too!" and this morning she ironed all my washing and folded them. ;3;

Anyway, uni wise, it starts on the 20th so in like a week and a half or so! I'm going to uni to sort out my classes and some fees stuff, yay. The excursion for the exchange students this semester is to Nara, probably because of the restoration of Himeji-jo and the Spring semester people are also invited, but I don't know if I'm going to go yet~ Depends on where in Nara they're going I guess~

Also, the typhoon. It's not too bad here in Kansai, but shit is going down in Kanto. D: All we've really gotten is random heavy showers and strong winds, but it's still generally sunny and it's still going to be 30+ degrees all this week -o-; PLEASE GET COOL SOON. But when it gets properly cold, I'd be hating it. :P But it's also good in a way that I can send the rest of my summer clothes back and reduce the amount of shit I have to carry home, which is currently a lot and I already sent 25kg of stuff home from the dorm. -______________- It cost around 15 000 yen, which is really not too bad but still, I had to pay in cash so I was like D: FFUUUUUUU my $$$ lol. And it's even by ship, which is the cheapest option. |D

Kuroshitsuji II has almost finished airing! Episode 11 is airing tonight, so I'll be staying up to watch the shitfest unfold, exciting.
A few music releases soon; Kalafina's new single is out next week and you get an instore event slip for NU Chayamachi on the 18th, so I think I'd like to go to that. The 18th is also the day that Pokemon Black/White comes out, HELLZ YEAH. Then MUCC are releasing their new single, the LE comes with a drink bottle (.....), then the week after, SID are releasing "cosmetic" (Why no new album yet?! I'm going to miss out on an album tour.... ;_;) and the week after that MUCC's new album! \:D/ So it will hopefully get a decent amount of plays before I see them in November, woo.

Shii is a dear and applied for a preselection ticket for me for SID's Tokyo Dome live in December since she braved it out and joined ID-S. :D We're gonna go see MUCC together in Osaka in November, provided I get the tickets on the 28th, so fingers crossed! I'm still undecided about the MUCC Kobe live because I don't have anyone to go with... or I could save some money for Tokyo a week or so later if I actually get Dome tickets. Shii says that she'll know on the 26th if she got first round preselection, and if not there's still preselection for FC in October, and there's still two rounds of general sales if ID-S fails.
Now to wait for the announcement for the tickets for Jack in the Box Winter 2010... Jack in the Box Summer is on Saturday, and will be streamed live from 11am-10pm so I guess that's what most of my day will be gone towards. MUCC are headlining \o/!!

(This has been in my drafts folder for a week so I think it's about time I finish it... maybe)
So, starting right at the beginning, on the night of the 29th (July), in the pouring rain, I managed to get to the Umeda Motor Pool after a lot of fail map reading (a common theme in travelling for me) and got on a night bus to Tokyo! My seat was right up the back in the corner, so I could put my seat as far back as I liked, and it was pretty spacious too. Got to Tokyo on the morning of the 30th at about 7am, it was sprinkling a little. Made my way to Otsuka station where my hotel was, dropped off my suitcase and had a Matcha Tea Latte since it was still raining. At around 9, headed to Ikebukuro since it was a station away and of course nothing in Sunshine City was open. So I wandered around for a bit, and found a shrine and was eaten alive by mozzies there which required an emergency stop into a pharmacy for some Muhi since I had come out of the shrine with 10 mozzie bites. :| It was still raining pretty hard so I couldn't take as many photos as I would've liked. :( Headed back to Sunshine City, shops were starting to open, yay!

Lots of wandering around until 3pm where I finally got to check in and chilled for a bit then headed to Hamamatsucho to meet up with Daniel to go to the Pokemon Center! :D Haha Daniel wanted to buy like everything and when he finally did, he asked the guy at the register if he could get the bag I got from my register LOL.

After some soba for dinner, we classily walked towards Tokyo Tower with a can of beer. On the way, there was a matsuri happening so we sat down for a bit and watched everyone dance with their pinwheels and yukatas, then continued on to Tokyo Tower.

We didn't have time to go into the actual tower though (I've already been up there but Daniel hadn't) since we headed to Roppongi to see the Alisa Fedele gig since Brendan was playing bass for her, and also for Daniel to meet some "real Australians". After having map troubles (and not the end of map troubles in Tokyo), we finally got to Club Edge, the tiniest place I've ever been in. There were heaps of Japanese people there, some young, some business men and Alisa's mum was there. Alisa's voice was really amazing! After the gig, Brendan burnt me with his cigarette and the next group went on stage and then Daniel realised that he loves Australians lmao. We trekked back to Akabanebashi subway station, and we ended up catching different trains home (Daniel went to Ueno) so we said our goodbyes in the train station.

I think I'll save the Saitama post for the next post, since it will be long. |D

SID's Saitama Super Live came and went, it was really fabulous. Furitsuke and 咲くing are great arm workouts, my favourite of the night would probably be 循環。　循環ってます、循環ってます♪　Then 眩暈, the arena was like a huuuge mosh pit of 32 000 people jumping to it. I was happy they played ２℃目, that Nyan let us sing my favourite lines from 妄想日記　(無言電話で　無言電話で　今日も寝かせない), they played ホソイコエ and プロポーズ, but no 御手紙 or Sweet? :(
I was also merch happy, but I love my tour shirt <3

Eating some yoghurt before I go downstairs and the watch-lady for the dorm helps me put my yukata on for Tenjin Matsuri. Yay, another boiling day in a yukata! There's going to be fireworks at the Matsuri tonight, woo!

I'm meeting Yuuko tomorrow after aaages and we're going to go to Nishinomiya Gardens and see Inception LOL. (Second time for me, first for Yuuko) Watanabe Ken is so fly, just sayin'. Then again, any movie with men in suits for the whole movie is so A+ in my books.

Currently roasting in my dorm room. I'm going to be a mess by the time I meet up with Cassie! We're going to hit up Torikizoku, then going to see Inception! Fuck yeah!

Well, finals are over, thank god. History was okay, but Religion was a mess :x Then graduation happened, and it was raining a lot that day so my yukata got wet. Originally I was going to walk to the station, but my host mum told me to wait for a bit and she said she'd drive me. I thought she was going to just take me to Kiyoshi-kojin station, but then we drove past it, so I thought she was taking me to Takarazuka station, until we drove past the city office (we saw a huge rainbow on the bridge right near the city office though!). I remembered that we drove this way on the first day I met her, and she took my mum to her house as well and made us lunch. That was 4 months ago!
The rain never really stopped, and I thought she was going to drop me off at Kotoen station because she said I could take a bus up to school and not get my yukata wet. Somehow she ended up driving me all the way to uni :O :O :O

But yes, graduation. Pretty much everyone else got their graduation certificates, and when I went up to the table Fujita-san was like "You don't get one yet! You do get a name tag for now though." Haha, excellent. Many of the girls wore yukata, so pretty! The actual grad was pretty boring, we had a buffet and pretty much nomihoudai LOL. After the graduation, went home and changed and met Thomas at Kotoen station and we went to an izakaya. Managed to get a train back to Kiyoshi-kojin! The night before we had a Level 4 karaoke night at Tsukaguchi, and me and Austin missed the train to Kiyoshi-kojin/Mefu so we taxi'd it from Takarazuka station.

So anyway, on Saturday morning I moved into the dorm, missed the big parade at Gion Matsuri but I still went afterwards to meet Kendra and everyone else. So many people, and it was HOT. Also lucky that Simo is amazingly tall because he took some photos for me on my camera of the street parade \:D/. Went back to Takarazuka with Kendra and Simo and had udon for dinner, then we kind of chilled out on one of the metal pole things and chatted. That night was Kendra's last night in the dorm, and I didn't have internet in my room then so we skyped Michael from her laptop.

The day after Eduardo (Kendra's fiance) came to Osaka, so we all had dinner at Outback Steakhouse yay! I used the 1000 yen coupon that I got last time I was there with Cassie since they accidentally charged 20000 yen on her credit card or something lol.

But yes, internet. I signed up for one of those EMobile things, so it's portable wifi which is really handy! Except it kind of runs out of battery fairly easily, but it's alright I'd only be using it for like a month or so anyway.

Going to the Tenjin Matsuri on Sunday, yay :D Then nothing for a while, then heading up to Tokyo on Thursday night, get there way too early on Friday morning, then on Saturday heading up to Saitama for SID's live!!!

Been a while since I last updated.

Since last time, the only things I really remember happening were Speech Day, going to the Renoir exhibition with Kendra and then we bought yukatas. \:D/ Well I wasn't technically planning to buy one, only Kendra was looking for one at first but then she pulled one off the rack and she said "Oh, this would look so nice on you!" and well, that was the one I ended up buying haha. We were allowed to try it on, and try different accessories and geta with it, so me and Kendra were walking around the shop in yukata (or rather, waddling, since the yukata is a bit movement-constricting).

Oh and I also went home for a little while to get my citizenship, so sorry guys no more fob jokes from now on :( LOL. It was nice being home. As nice as Japan is, really, I do feel the most comfortable at home and with my cat~

Heading off to Tokyo on Friday afternoon to meet Michael, then hang out until Monday then we'll come back to Osaka. Then my sister and Simon are coming on the Tuesday, so more hanging out. And some World Cup watching in between. :D It's been a while since I last went to Tokyo, so I'm looking forward to it! And catching the Shinkansen for the first time too :DDDD

Speaking of the World Cup, I stayed up last night for Paraguay vs Japan. Awwww, Japan!! :( :( But they did really well though to get that far! I was planning to nap between the Paraguay vs Japan and Spain vs Portugal match, but since the former match went on for longer than expected, my nap time was cut short and I ended up waking up at 4:30am instead of 3am when my alarm supposedly went off, and I figured the game was almost over anyway so I went back to bed (except the sun was already rising.....).

After graduation, I'll be moving into the dorms for the summer holidays until I can move in with my next host family. I've heard a lot about the dorm from Kendra, and honestly I'm not really looking forward to living there but well, I don't really have a choice and at least it's only up until early September at the latest! What to do over the summer is another problem, haha.

Going to Saitama to see SID in a month, fuck! I'm really excited, but it kind of still hasn't hit me yet. I finally booked my bus ticket back to Osaka today, since I was debating whether to go straight to Kyuushuu from Tokyo, but I figured I should probably save up some money before going. I was talking to Mayu today about wanting to go, since she went to Kyuushuu about two months ago and she said she only went to the Miyazaki/Kagoshima area, and I said to her the places that I really want to go to are in the northern areas so we are kind of in planning to go together in the summer. :D :D :D WOOOOO.

This time a year ago, I was kind of obsessed with Ameba Pigg and trying to get into Nyan's house but could never get in since people would stay in there and never come out LOL. And sucking at Shirokuro against Rin and Ryo. :( Also hikari came out around this time, too. Oh! And my sister getting lost in Tokyo by herself as well.

It better not rain tomorrow, I need to do my washing!! I'm also going on a shrine hunting date with Kendra tomorrow at Obayashi, haha.

Suma Beach

Yesterday, we went to Suma Beach for Kendra and Laura's birthdays (it was also Dani's birthday, but she wasn't at the beach). Met up with Kendra, Thomas and Rachel at Takarazuka station to head to Suma~ I've never been further out than the Sannomiya (Kobe) station and I caught four trains to get to the beach.

Luckily it was nice and sunny, but when we got to the beach it kind of got a bit cloudy. We also made tacos :D I didn't think that I would be even going to a beach in Japan so I didn't bring any swimmers, but the water was a bit cold anyway so I just put my feet in.

Speaking of the "beach", I will never ever take Australian beaches for granted again! The "sand" at Suma Beach was more like a mini gravel pit mixed with a shitload of shells, so it hurt like a bitch to walk on the sand since a billion things would be stabbing into your feet as you walked. I don't know how Kendra and Thomas ran on it :P

I went to SID's Taaposu event at Zepp Osaka yesterday!! Since I already wrote an update on it on my Livejournal I'm too lazy to write it again but it was pretty amazing! The best part were the crying/screaming girls, imo. /kicked

Type A - I've always bought Type A, I don't know. Apart from Uso, where I bought both A and B (which I'm glad I did, since the footage of each DVD was Natsukoi and Memai). This time on Type A, the DVD of the perf from the Men Only live was of "dummy". I wonder what was on Type B...? I would actually buy Type B if the perf was of a song I really like.

For some reason, "cut" is giving me L'Arc vibes. idk, maybe it's just me?

Pokemon wise, I've got all eight badges and I'm now trying to make my way through the Whirl Islands before going to the Pokemon League! Thank you Connor for lending me Pokemon :P

Went to Den Den Town with Cassie for the purpose of Gyakusai gachapon, came home with several gachapon and several doujinshis. Although I think Cassie bought more doujin than I did.... hahaha.

Started playing Pokemon SoulSilver (thank you Michael for sending it to me ♥), awwwright. Gonna be a Pokemon master, right before mid-sems!! Born to be a winner, obv. /shot

Saitama tickets on sale next Saturday, I reaaaaaally hope I get them. ;_; Nothing will be better than being able to see SID in such a big arena, and at a time when I'm in Japan and on summer break as well. (>_<)

It's almost the end of May! :O In about two months, Spring semester will be over, and practically everyone will be going home... Josie is coming to Japan (although in Tokyo) for a month from end of July-August, so I'm going to go up to Tokyo to see her in the holidays, yay!!!

ahhh i've got so much to catch up on!!

here's a summary:
- went to a couple of shrines/temples within in kiyoshi-kojin/mefu-jinja/nakayama area since it's all pretty much within walking distance and my host mum knew what she was doing haha

- went to kobe chinatown (nankin-machi) with daniel last weekend. LOTS AND LOTS OF FOOD! amazing. i'm up for going back to eat more, to be honest.

- golden week came and went. 3rd: went to nakanoshima matsuri with my host mum, host aunt and my host mum's friend. my host mum and her friend communicated through sign language the whole day, which was really interesting actually. gesturing really goes a long way.

- 4th: robert invited us to a barbecue at his host family's house in okamoto - oh god the hill and all the turns up to his house!! it was such a nice little area though! at night we went to a danjiri matsuri in mikage, and we won these pretty awesome prizes lol. i swapped robert the one piece coin purse for a plastic samurai sword (complete with fake 100yen). it's awesome okay. then on the way back to mikage station we somehow managed to find a park so we went on the swings for a bit. :D

- 5th: went to osaka aquarium for my birthday. finally legal! also finally went karaoke! daniel is amazing at lady gaga songs, as robert is amazing at dragonball songs.
some japanese teenagers on the train were like talking about us really loudly, they started off staring at daniel first because he usually catches people's attention first, and then the asians who speak english. |D it was hilarious because they were trying to guess my accent and where i was from. then they thought i was canadian because daniel told them "no" when they were like "american?" hahahahahaha what

today went to sannomiya with kendra, thomas and mike. squat toilets are still the devil. we ate the biggest parfaits ever but they were so good (apart from the surprise oranges... just no).

Catching up!

Saturday:
I can't remember what I did for most of the day, but clearly it must've been nothing. At around 6:30, met up with Ayaka at Nishikita since all the people who went to UNSW over the summer were having a reunion nomikai of sorts. (Shun even came down from Tokyo!) I was apparently a "special guest", haha. Takako was like "Oh you are famous among us!" LOL I hope that's a good thing. But anyway, there were lots of people I didn't know but eventually I got to know them but my memory is slightly hazy so I may have forgotten names to faces now |D

It was cute though, they were all pretty eager to speak English! Less work for me, more work on their behalf but later I busted out lots of half English half Japanese sentences and I'm pretty sure I was also failing at Kansai-ben lmao. Anyway, after we left the place, we ran into Margaret, Eseul, Hyesoo, Ryan and David! The others sort of went on ahead so me, Dai and Taisuke stopped and talked to them for a while. Later I sent Eseul an email telling her it was nice running into her and the others, but when I saw them today apparently I sent the mail to Eseul three times! My phone was lying to me and said it didn't send so I was like SEND SEND SEND!
I will save Dai's extremely trashed moments as a memento of Osaka and not detail it here hahahaha.

Sunday:
Left the house at 7:15am to go to Takarazuka with my host mum and her sister. We went on a bus tour (with a load of old people) to Daikonshima for the Botan Matsuri. Lucky the weather was really nice and sunny!

Also went into the male toilets - apparently it's perfectly normal to waltz into the male toilet and use them, especially since at every service area the line for the female toilets were so long. At our last pittstop before Takarazuka, my host mum was like it's okay just come! So I was like .............okay. It wasn't too bad, until I realised people were still going to come in and pee at the urinals. Yeah, awkward. The wait was worth it though since I got to go to a washlet, and not a shitty squat toilet. Speaking of squat toilets, after being here for a month I finally caved and used one because at some place we stopped at the female toilets were only the squat ones. It was possibly the chattest thing I've ever been in, and just reinforces the fact that washlets are much more preferrable. Or maybe because we don't have squat toilets in Sydney, but whatever.

Monday:
My host mum wakes me up at about 9am to make me do my washing since I didn't get to do it the day before. Okay, I actually don't mind doing my washing now. Did nothing for a while, my host mum went out, watched Dexter for a bit before I decided to head out. My host mum told me there was a post office near Kiyoshikoujin station, so I went to look for that but after 15 minutes it failed so I gave up and caught a train to Takarazuka. After some fail map reading, I finally found a post office, went in, failed some more but I eventually sent off Michael's Run Devil Run poster. Now he can stop asking me to send it, haha.

Bought Inside Darling's Mind (from the My Darling is a Foreigner series) because I thought it was in English, but of course, when I opened it, it was in Japanese. In this one though Tony is teaching English so either way I'm bound to learn something in it! /adds to pile of books to read. Still making my way through Hitofudegaki no Bigaku, there's lots of things I want to look up but they're mostly grammatical things so probably that will be a bit harder to look up than vocab. I'm surprised at the fact I actually can understand some of it, yay.

Went to Kawanishi randomly, then walked around trying to find a place that sold mochi or some sort of sweets because I wanted to buy something to thank my host mum for taking me to Daikonshima, especially since she paid for all of it. :x Found a Kinokuniya though, so I went in and flicked through Rock & Read since it was Yuuya's feature~ I left the shopping centres and wandered on the street, and then I saw a manjuu shop so I went in. The lady said something to me, then she brings out a little tray from behind the counter and there was a sample portion of manjuu and some tea on the tray, puts it down on a seat. So nice!! So I sat down and ate the manjuu - it was really good! Not too sweet. Also the tea was Kuromame tea which was also pretty nice. So I ended up buying some manjuu and kuromame for my host family, and went home.

Here's the thing with Japanese culture I still can't get a hold of: Subtlety.
But yeah, my host mum was all like, "Oh! No, you shouldn't spend your money on buying things for us! Only spend your money on things you need!" and talks to me for about five minutes on why I shouldn't give her presents. Then I was a bit like D: then I talked to Michael about it, but he was saying that she was just probably being nice about it and she did appreciate it, considering we spent pretty much 3A/3B last year learning how to be way subtle and ultra polite.

Anyway, Golden Week starts on Thursday! Golden Week plans sort of fell through, so at the moment I'm not really doing much. Which brings me to the realisation that I will be turning 20 next Wednesday (the 5th, Children's Day. Fly your koinobori! - the carp flags). Will be rejoicing that I will be legal (already did that when I was 18, but legal age here is 20).

Utahime at Haru Ranman no Utage 2010

I finally got to play Taiko no Tatsujin yesterday! :D Went to Namco Land at Umeda with Connor and Austin yesterday afternoon. A Taiko no Tatsujin session is never complete without going home with some sort of blister and peeling skin. The last time I played it was when I was in Tokyo two years ago @_@

Also Tekken matches were being projected onto this huuuuge screen in the place! I think I was a little over excited.

Went to Umeda on Monday and randomly walked past Tower Records so I went inside. idgi, "sleep" was available for listening in the Visual Kei section, but when I when to find their CDs in the Visual Kei section the little sign (pictured above) says that all of SID's CDs were moved to the J-Pop section. I was going to get Renai at first, until I looked at the MUCC section and well.

Ever since Houyoku came out in 2005, I've been wanting to get it. (I think it's still in my shopping cart on cdjapan) Even now, Houyoku is still my favourite album of theirs (and even better that Ame no Orchestra is on it) so I satisfied some part of my MUCC fangirl that's been wanting this for like 5 years.

I also ate Japanese Maccas for the first time on Monday after wandering around. I ordered a Quarter Pounder meal~ It tasted a little different from the Maccas back home, the meat was a little different, the chips were much more salty and the Coke was much sweeter.

Today I ate a remotely spicy cup noodle, which was better than the one I had yesterday. The packaging was all like ~SPICY!~ but it wasn't even spicy. :|

I also seem to eat a pack of Koala March everyday - they have them at the Kangaku Bakery place near Mamas for 99yen - to get a decent pack of Koala March that isn't some fake Chinese kind in Sydney is about $6 AUD, so it works out so much cheaper to stuff myself with Koala March here than back home. I'm also a bit addicted to the pizza bread at Kangaku too, that stuff is amazing.

Classes wise, still the same I guess. I seem to do less work than when I did Japanese at UNSW, but the stuff we learn is actually going into my head unlike back in Sydney. I guess it's because I'm actually in the environment to exercise the things I learn now, so it's easier to stick? I don't know. Stuff we're been learning, some of the things I've already learnt but they're getting explained in much more detail so it's not some half-assed knowledge that I have now, haha. I still have a long way to go with speaking and listening though.

On Tuesday, I got to watch a bit of Manatsu no Utage 07 in class thanks to Abe-sensei. Unfortunately (?) we didn't get up to SID's part of the program, but fortunate that no one had to witness how big of a Nyan fangirl I am so that was good. /shot

Today is so dreary and rainy I'm glad I stayed home and watched Dexter instead.

Pokemon Center Osaka

On Sunday, me, Sam, Daniel, Robert, Constantin, Thomas and Mike went to the Pokemon Center in Osaka! Daniel was so excited when he saw the Center, he was like OHHHHHH MY GODDDDD and freaking out, and we had to curb his excitement by telling him we should have lunch at Mos Burger first before making our way in. Me, Daniel and Constantin ate the fastest and went in first, we were very eager to go inside. 8)

The store itself was much smaller than the Tokyo one, but it was still pretty good. Lack of Eevee/all its evolutions merch was slightly disappointing, I was hoping to get some awesome Umbreon stuff haha. In the end I was very controlled with my spending, and only got a Pikachu folder and a little Charizard plush since it was like Charizard's "feature" this time around (when I went to the Tokyo one, the focus was Eevee and its different forms so there were LOTS of merch for that) and you hardly ever see Charizard looking all cute and chibi.

Afterwards, Sam went to look for a bag in EST so the rest of us went to hang around in Uniqlo for a bit. Then we went to Yodobashi, and me, Daniel and Robert went up to the level with all the sweet food and ate some crepes while the others walked around because Thomas and Mike hadn't been to Yodobashi before. Went home, brought my washing in.

On the topic of washing, I'm slowly getting used to doing my own washing. My washing day is Sunday, and I carry all my clothes down to the washing machine in a basket with a sticker on it that says "Happy Basket". The washing machine is weirdly placed on the front porch right near the front door. It's still weird to hang all my washing out on the balcony, especially since there's a train line right near my house so I have to hang my undies and stuff while people on the passing train go by.

So, on Saturday, since it was the Art class' excursion to Kyoto National Museum for Hasegawa Tohaku's exhibition, a whole group of us decided to tag along to the excursion anyway. The weather was exceptionally lovely, which was a relief since it had been pouring the entire day on the Friday.

Met Sam and Kendra at Hankyu Umeda, and we Hankyu'd it to Kyoto. When I when to Kyoto with Mum last month, we had taken the JR so I didn't know that we could take the Hankyu. It actually works out much cheaper than catching the JR! Anyway, like the Osaka station (Umeda), of course Kyoto station wasn't "Kyoto", but Kawaramachi. After wandering and phone calls, we had to catch the Keihan line to Shichijou (we later found out that we could've just walked along the river and saved 150 yen for a two minute subway ride, but anyway).

Saw a CocoIchi curry place on the way to the museum (I still have yet to try it, and figure out why Nyan is so obsessed with it but that's another story), and I was so hungry ;_; Eventually went to the museum, went inside and there was a sign saying No Mobile Phones, Keep Quiet, No Photography and no sketching. Yep, no sketching. What? Yeah, because we would've totally sold the sketches we made of the work or something...

After the exhibition, the whole group just kind of split off into smaller groups to hunt for food. Sam was hungry for some Thai food, and fortunately there was a Thai restaurant really close to the place so me, Sam, Kendra, Daniel, Thomas, Robert and Constantin went. The food was a little pricey but it was pretty good! We all shared food, but me, Thomas, Daniel, Constantin and Robert ended up ordering a plate of Pad Thai each because we were still hungry. The atmosphere was really nice in the restaurant. A little squishy, but still good. Also it was the first time that I heard Sam speak Thai (in a conversation) so we'd all sit there while Sam ordered stuff in Thai.

After dinner, instead of catching the subway back to Kawaramachi, we walked back along the river. It wasn't too cold, so the walk was pretty relaxing. We were talking about when we were going to "graduate" from Kangaku, and I was the only one out of us there who would be graduating in January, instead of after this semester. It brought us to the question of "When will we be able to see each other after we leave Japan?"

The train ride home was entertaining, some really drunk guy was in the same carriage as us. He stumbled in with a garbage bag tied around his neck for his vomit, supported by about five or six of his friends. They even had to change bags for him during the ride, and when they got out at Juso, the guy just passed out on the platform. Party hard.

If you haven't heard the story from yesterday, in short, don't leave your plastic umbrellas in those racks outside stores.

I went to the Lawson across the road from Kangaku with Kendra yesterday afternoon to buy some snacks. Since Lawson didn't have those umbrella bags, I left my umbrella on the rack outside. Mind you, there was a plastic umbrella in there but I made sure to put it apart from the others, and it was actually different to the other ones anyway (I left all the stickers on there so I'd know which one was mine). After looking at all the kinds of food with Rilakkuma packaging on it and choosing food (fyi Mentaiko onigiri is amazing), I went outside and my umbrella was gone. I was more surprised to be honest, than angry (okay I was a bit angry) but since it was Lawson I popped back in and bought another umbrella.

So, I set off with Kendra with my new plastic umbrella to explore the area around Kangaku, and we went into this huge pharmacy. We laughed about how no one was going to take my umbrella this time, considering that again, I made sure to put it right near Kendra's and away from everyone else's umbrella. Yep, what happened when we came out? My umbrella was gone. By this point I was like OKAY COOL WHY TWICE IN ONE DAY?!? but it was also hilarious that it happened to me twice in one day, and in the space of 1.5 hours. So, third umbrella lucky. (It was only 298yen from the pharmacy too, woo).

Anyway, the pharmacy was really cool. So much stuff to look at! In the pads section, they put a sample out, and it was HUGE! (It was a night one, but still, they're not THAT big in Australia) Kendra thought it was an adult diaper at first, until she looked at the packaging. XD Then we spent ages looking at facial masks and blackhead removal strips and deciding which ones were the best. We both got some Bioré blackhead removal strips, which we were both really excited to use. I also got some nail polish, yay!

My search for Hitofudegaki no Bigaku is over!! Went to the Sannomiya Kinokuniya and did the book search thing (I just really like the thing because it prints out a receipt), and it said it wasn't in stock, but it was at the Umeda Kinokuniya. I awkwardly lurked around the cashier and someone eventually spotted me lurking around and asked what I needed help with, so I handed her the little receipt thing. She said I could wait for about a week for the Sannomiya Kinokuniya to get it ordered in, but I asked her how I could get to the Umeda Kinokuniya anyway. |D
At the Umeda Kinokuniya, the book search receipt thing even prints out a little map of where the book you're looking for is located, and in which section as well. Basically I got to the section ASAP and got a copy, which was placed next to ken's book. (As in Ken from L'Arc) Yeah, so I'm pretty satisfied as a fangirl right now. /shot

But anyway, before I went on my Hitofudegaki no Bigaku adventure, I went out to Nishinomiya Gardens to initially suss out where the graniph store was, but on the way to the store there was a glasses store. I've been meaning to get a new pair of glasses, but all the pairs I've tried on so far didn't suit me very well or I just didn't like the style. |D Evidently from the photo I did manage to buy some glasses today! I was actually surprised at how cheap it was, it cost about 6000 yen (that's about $70 AUD) for the frame, lens and a case, and they did an eye test for me on the spot and I was able to pick them up in half an hour. Talk about efficient!

At first it was kind of awkward because my Japanese still isn't very good yet, and the guy who was helping me kind of picked up on it (when I stared at him blankly when he said something) and he asked me if I could understand and speak Japanese when I was about to get my eyes tested. I told him I could a little and he looked kind of worried to be honest LOL. He spoke pretty fast, so I would only pick up words in the sentence eg he was telling me to put my forehead against this thing, and I could only make out おでこ (because Gyakusai is educational*~ and taught me that odeko means Forehead re: Apollo!). After that he was asking me whether I could still see with my old glasses, and whether I was short sighted or whatever. He was actually really nice and patient with me, so yay.

b) Had spontaneous cake time with Cassie on Thursday at Yodobashi Umeda. Bought "Last Window" (awww yeah Kyle Hyde) but I haven't had time to play it yet. :(
c) Went Hanami with the Kangaku Photography Circle yesterday with Kendra, Sam, Daniel and Thomas. It was really fun! One of the guys kept talking to Daniel in English, then I said something to Daniel in English and he was like to me (in Japanese), "Ohh! How did your English get so good?!" so I was like "8D; I'm from Australia." and he thought I was Japanese lmao.
Tried Umeshu Jelly, it was really weird! As Daniel said, we had to "suck it really hard" and "put your tongue into it".
d) Speaking of Daniel, we both had a can of C. C. Lemon each (50 lemons worth in one can!) on Friday, and all the way down to Kotoen from Kangaku we were basically laughing at nothing. So much sugar!
e) It's slowly getting warmer! Yay!
f) I seriously think my English is slowly getting worse. There are things that I type that when I read over it doesn't actually make any sense. ;_;
g) My host dad was trying to teach me how to use the washing machine because my host mum was out in the morning, but I have a feeling he didn't know how to use it either lol
h) I googled for graniph stores in Osaka, and there's actually one in Nishinomiya Gardens! I've been there a few times already, can't believe it was there all along and I didn't know. Well, good to know that graniph can continue to suck my money here in Japan, just like in Sydney.

I keep falling behind on updating!

To keep things as short as possible, I met up with Cassie last Saturday at Osaka-jo for some hanami that eventually didn't go down, but it was good seeing her again anyway! ♥ At first I thought I had dialled the wrong person on my keitai, because the person on the other end had an American accent, but it was really Cassie hahaha. Met Kyle and Lauren, they were both really lovely. Aside from the coldness of the night, it was a fun night, lots of food yay.

On Sunday, went to Namba/Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi area with Sam, Eseul, Mike, Ryan and David. When we got on the train at Nishikita, Ryan went to sit down next to some lady and like three seconds later she got up and left. IDEK. Anyway, we hung around at Loft at Umeda for a bit because Eseul had to come a bit later because she went to church in the morning.

Anyway, classes started on Tuesday. Met some people in my class who have already been at Kangaku since September, which was nice. Everyone in my class is leaving to go back home at the end of this semester, I'll be the only one left for next semester's Japanese classes!! :( Some of the things I'm learning right now I already learnt last year, but I hardly remember any of it (re: report style writing) so it's good to refresh my memory! Speaking of class I really should go to sleep. :(

Himeji Castle & Akashi Kaikyou Bridge

On Friday, we went on an excursion to Himeji Castle and Akashi Kaikyou Bridge. The day before, Sakai-san and Sean were saying that since they were晴れ男 and 晴れ女 (hareotoko and hareonna - basically people who bring good, sunny weather with them wherever they go!) that hopefully it will be sunny on the Friday - it rained all day and night on Thursday. When I left for uni on Friday morning, it was still raining so I opted to leave my DSLR at home because I didn't want to get it wet.Anyway, we had a two hour bus ride from Kangaku to Himeji Castle. Abe-sensei asked us lots of Japanese riddles, which were actually puns and were slightly "are you for real?" inducing. Eventually we got to Himeji (in our very own Kangaku bus), and we even had Kangaku banners too! Rachel was our resident banner holder for a while.

Actually by the time we got to Himeji Castle, it had stopped raining and the sun was coming out! Unfortunately we weren't allowed to go into the castle because we didn't have enough time :( Had lunch after that. There was tempura in the bentou, except I didn't know what a certain green thing was and I asked Ryan if it was capsicum and he was just like "??? capsicum???" XD (More of the English debate later)

Headed to Kokoen, which was kind of boring to be honest. :x Finally left the Himeji area, and went to Akashi Kaikyou Bridge, which is the longest suspension bridge in the world!

The bus ride back to Nishikita was a lot of fun, from a simple question of asking Sean whether we can pick up our phones from Softbank with our student IDs, it turned into an elaborate project of hearts, smiley faces, lipstick mark, Hello Kitty charm and writing Sean on the front with a little heart around it on the front. A reply was written back, complete with milk candy! XD I guess 3/4 of the bus was confused as to why us in the back were bursting out laughing all of a sudden and surprised by the little note we made them pass to Sean and to be passed back, haha.
Then we had a debate: whip cream or whipped cream? British English, Australian English and American English are very very different, as we all found out. We also learnt how to say whipped cream in about five languages, how educational!

After we got back to Nishikita, a group of us went back to the Kotoen Softbank store to get our phones. Getting started with mailing and stuff was more stressful than I thought it would have been, but I'm glad it's all up and running now! I have a fabulous flip phone complete with a jingly Rilakkuma strap. I'm slowly getting used to using a keypad again, I've been using an iPhone for the past year or so I don't know how to anymore |D

Soon I will be finished with my backlogging! Just need to update about the weekend and then I should be all set~

Okay I think I should update about the week before I actually started orientation at uni.

21st March - Had to leave the house at 5:30am, which turned into 6am. I didn't sleep all night anyway so I didn't have any troubles waking up/oversleeping and missing my plane. Bessie and ggikku were stalking me outside my house, and my sister got freaked out when she backed out of the driveway and saw a car start up and started following our car lmfao. Got to the airport and Michael was already there. Checked in, then went and ate Maccas. (Yay Maccas breakfast)

Matt and Sally also came to the airport but I saw them for maybe about 5 minutes before I had to go into the Departures thing. Leaving was a bit more emotional than I expected, but at least Bessie's box of tissues came in handy. :P Sent some messages before my plane left at like 8:30am or so, and I received some when I stopped over in Hong Kong for about 2 hours before the flight to Kansai International Airport. I watched some program on stalkers, which was actually quite interesting but ultra creepy. Anyway, eventually get to KIX, then went to Shin-Osaka since we were staying there until I met up with my host family.

22nd March - After breakfast, my mum wanted go to Kangaku (Uegahara campus) so we went to Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi, walked around Nishinomiya Gardens for a bit before we went. Went into Book 1st, and being the fangirl that I am I went to look for Nyan's book, and even used this awesome search thing but it's out of stock at the moment. Nooo! :( Anyway, then we caught a taxi to uni because neither of us thought it would've been a good idea to take a bus considering we knew shit all.

After we walked around the whole campus, we went back to Hankyu Umeda station because a) the Rilakkuma store was there (for my benefit) and b) Snoopy Town was there (for my mum's benefit). SO MUCH CUTE STUFF ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_;

23rd March - Like every other tourist, we had a mandatory trip to Kyoto's Kiyomizudera. It was pouring with rain that day, which really sucked.

I did the whole throwing the money into the box then bell ringing and wishing thing, but in my excitement and fail of bell ringing I actually forgot to make a wish, so I had to do it again at another one. |D

I also got a fortune from the wooden sticks that you had to shake out of the big wooden box thing (yeah, so technical I know) and I got a shitty fortune so I tied mine to a pole.

We got hungry, so we went to a little place to eat. There was a guy sitting on a table near me with the most hilarious jacket of Engrish I had ever seen.

Yeah, ~Master Cock~. A free feeling indeed.

Went back into the city, and walked around some department store and had afternoon tea. At night time we went to Kyoto Tower, which thankfully wasn't as scary as being on Tokyo Tower.

24th March - Went shopping at Shinsaibashi!!

Went to this fabulous fabulous camera shop - it sold new cameras/lens/darkroom equipment/studio lights etc. as well as a lot of second hand camera gear. I got a 55-200 lens (Ultrasonic, and it was in really good condition too) and a UV filter, and all up it cost maybe around AUD$200. I also saw a Mamiya RB67 and it was like AUD$300 or so (without the lens though), whereas the ones I saw back home were about AUD$800ish and no
lens included. Also that day I went into the four storey Uniqlo and was a bit excited, haha.

25th March - Aivy came down from Kyoto!! We met at Shin-Osaka, then went to the Dottonbori/Shinsaibashi area again. Went to H&M, first time I had to line up to get into a store AND we had to line up for an hour to get into the change room. WTF WHY.

26th March - Finally we went to Universal Studios Japan after waiting all week for it to be sunny! It rained when we were lining up to get tickets, but it stopped around the time when we were almost at the ticket booth and under shelter anyway. It was still really really cold that day though :(

27th March - Headed to Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi to meet up with my host family! My host mum invited my mum to come to her house too, so we drove from there to Takarazuka. My host mum has severe road rage which was hilarious to be honest. Anyway, got there, and my suitcase is almost as wide as the stairs in the house. Unpacked and set up my room, and my host mum made us lunch!

Afterwards me and Mum went out to Sannomiya, which was pretty fun. I love going to Loft, but going to Loft also means buying things /cry. This is like my Uniqlo syndrome, I can't not buy something whenever I go in there. :( :( :(

I will spare you on how much Rilakkuma stuff I have and leave it here for now, I shall update about our excursion to Himeji Castle and the Akashi Kaikyou bridge later.

Haven't updated since I got to Japan, hi. Will properly update later (I hope), but just dropping a note that I'm nice and safe although very cold in Takarazuka, Osaka. (Yes, home of the Takarazuka Revue)

It snowed on Monday for a little bit here, I was a bit overexcited and my host dad looked at me like "what the hell it's just snow". My host mum is pretty cool, her driving skills are awesome, has road rage and knows what Skype is. My host dad busts out random English phrases at the most random times which is kind of hilarious.

Orientation started on Monday at Kangaku, got my ID card, my email, registered for my Gaijin card, can't get a phone yet and I can enrol for classes in the morning when I find out what level they put me in, yay. I'm planning to be a lazy shit and take 4 classes this semester and just load up next semester, but that depends on what is offered next semester I guess.

My Nihongo Partners are so lovely and amazing and helpful, Mayu and Yuuko. The world is so small, Mayu is actually really close friends with Ayaka, who I randomly met on O-Week at the NSA store because she was doing a summer exchange at UNSW and we still keep in contact via email! I've been able to practise a lot of Japanese with them and they're so patient when my Japanese fails me and takes me a while to find my words, and if I don't understand anything they will explain it to me in a way I can understand. I can recognise Kansai-ben now because they both use it alot but I can't speak it yet haha.

Other exchange students are mostly from UK and America, some from Europe. There is a girl from USYD, so yay there's me, Anthony and her (Danielle) from Sydney \:D/

Was on the barrier the whole night in front of a gap on stage between two amps where Alex and Nick stood quite often :D Lots of people arguing and fighting behind me during the show though :x

Australia Day was the usual - ate chicken and listened to the Triple J Hottest 100 with Sally and Matt. #1 was no surprise since it was already leaked. It was a pretty enjoyable countdown though, although I would've prefered if they had a live event like previous years :(

Technically yesterday now, went to Gav's to help him take photos for his audition. We were originally meant to meet up in the city, but things changed and went straight to Hurstville instead. Ran into Leslie at Parra station so we caught the train together. The girl sitting next to us had a G-Dragon ringtone. Got to Hurstville, had lunch, went back to Gav's place where he spent like an hour getting ready and me and Leslie were telling him what to wear lmao. While Gav was doing that, me and Leslie lazed around on the couch (I was hugging Gav's pumpkin head Rilakkuma - it's so cute and huggable, I want one ;_;) and were talking about weird things, and that we used to buy Dolly and that we're both pretty much make-up incompetent. |D The shoot and video went well, so yay! It was really fun to help out with~

Went back to the city for NSA Meeting with Annabel, Jessica and Mike, had a meeting over dinner which was quite nice.

9) Saw Mao's Last Dancer about two weeks ago. Ahhh ;_; It was a really great movie and I cried a lot in the cinema, but Mike probably cried more than I did.

Ahh, can't believe it's Week 10 already! So one more crit left for Digital, Analogue and Studio Lighting, and the Japanese final. Then holidays which will be "study time for JLPT" (yeah right). Summer break, then soon after that I will be off to Japan for exchange! I realised that in six months I will be in Japan... slightly unnerving but exciting at the same time :D No Photomedia stuff for a year! It'll be nice to take a break though before coming back for final year~

I picked up my Kwansei Gakuin application form from the exchange office yesterday, so much stuff to fill out! 8( I'll get through it eventually...

I used to update a lot, what happened? |D

Meant to be studying kanji right now since I have a kanji test in the evening, and I have to write my sentence on the board but I don't even know where my grammar structures print out went, so A+ amirite.

I went into Kinokuniya on Friday and impulse bought a copy of Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors. I borrowed it from the library ages ago, but it's nice to have my own copy of something. I still have a shitload of books to read though, but I can't help but to buy more - this is a continuous cycle. :x

Have been going through old chatlogs lately, ones from 04 even. Although most of the ones I've been going through are between me and ggikku, back when they were named like "nijo" and "ninja steph", lmfao. It's really interesting to see how much we've both changed, yet some things just stay the same.

Okay better go grab some lunch, do some study before I leave the house!

- MSN forced me to upgrade otherwise I wouldn't be able to sign in. It looks shit but now I have custom alert sounds at least. When someone signs in, it's Edgeworth yelling OBJECTION! and when I get a message, Edgeworth yells TAKE THAT! /easily amused
- 2nd year Photomedia exhibiton is in two weeks! 28th September - 2nd October at COFA Space :D
- Bought The Resistance yesterday! Haven't watched the DVD yet though.
- In the space of 4 days, Abracadabra has 242 plays. DAMN IT WHY IS IT SO CATCHY

Productiveness in Digital Studies, clearly. Have a 20% or something project due next week and I have no idea what to do (What's new). Going to be learning how to use a 5x4 Toyo large format camera in the afternoon in Analogue, which is quite exciting!

Sometime I will update on what I did for the rest of the holidays...

Playing Pokemon Platinum has put me into a "omg Pokemon!" mood, I even whipped out my old Pokemon tapes on the weekend to watch them lmao. I also found the German version of the Pokemon songs on Youtube, and they all sound so fierce. ~Pokemon Meister~
Training for the Pokemon League now, trying to do EV training but it's hard without the items from the Battle Tower 8( I'm glad the Elite 4 levels up the more you battle them, and the whole Battle Frontiers thing that wasn't in Diamond. So excited about HeartGold/SoulSilver, but it's out in Japanese in September (idc if I can't read it, I just want to play!) but that's in the middle of semester and I really can't afford to be ~catching 'em all~ when I should be projecting. Life's ~*tough decisions*~, rofl.

Speaking of video games and the like, I blame Mike ENTIRELY on my slight (yes, slight) addiction to Tekken. It's embarassing because people tend to watch me play (probably because the female species don't tend to hang near the Tekken machines) and especially since I'm noob it makes it even more embarassing 8D;

OH! I found out last week that my exchange was approved - I got nominated to Kwansei Gakuin for exchange next April, YAY!! So I'll get to stalk Rose for a semester ;o Sooo technically this will be my last semester at UNSW/COFA for a while, which will be kind of nice I guess, to see and experience something new!

hikari arrived last Friday :) I really like the plastic slip case... thing with the flowers. The DVD had perfs of Rinjin and Hoshi no Miyako from the Hibiya live and random clips of stuff, including Shinji's stretching exercise fail haha. Someone ripped their Type B DVD, which has Otegami and Hanabira~ But the best part was the Ohta Issan menkai |D
CD-wise, it took a few listens to grow on me but overall I really like it ♥ Mousou Nikki 2, awwwright.

Anyway, got my uni results for Semester 1. So close to a HD for Japanese :( :( I ended up with three Distinctions and a Credit, which I'm still happy with! My WAM went up only ever so slightly that it probably wouldn't have made a difference whether it went up from last semester or not.

Been going out a lot recently~ Which is good, since I usually spend my holidays being cooped up and all I would do is wake up, sit at the computer, eat, go to to sleep. Last Thursday went to the city with Bessie and ggikku, then went off to Newtown with NSA people for cocktails and afterwards went back to the city where I lost of Mike numerous times in Tekken. 8D; Saturday was Erika's birthday dinner followed by K at live; Sunday was a catch up dinner with Matt, Jess, Sally and Emma and fail attempt to see a movie since we all couldn't decide on one; Wednesday was Johnni and his twin's bbq (lots of rain and spinny playground equipment) and yesterday went to the city with Bessie and ggikku. (Bought Kuroshitsuji 7 and won a Rilakkuma hat at Capitol which is amazing because I never get anything at Capitol lol)

I have a lot of books to read yet haven't started. (Then again what's new)
